I got back from Egypt on Sunday morning after an amazing week of fun, diving, dancing, drinking & having a great holiday!
I completed sixteen out of a possible twenty two dives.
I have written a short trip report about the New Year dive on Yorkshire Divers.
Dived the following sites:
- Alternatives
- The Dunraven (I did my 100th dive on this small pretty wreck)
- Sorayar (Small Crack)
- Stingray Station
- The Carnatic
- The Giannis D
- The Barge
- Shag Rock
- The SS Thistlegorm
- Shark & Yolanda Reef’s
- Jackfish Alley
- Ras Ghazlani
I have now done 115 dives with a total of 78 hours and 20 minutes of dive time.
In 2006 I completed 82 dives.
My favourite day of diving the holiday was the 4th of January on which started with an early morning Dive on the SS Thistlegorm as we penetrated the holds and looked at the cargo, then we headed off to Shark & Yolanda reef for a drift dive along the amazing wall and reef then the third dive of the day was on Jackfish Alley which was just an amazing colourfull reef full of life.
I took the camera in on Shark & Yolanda and got these photo’s (not bad for my first ever attempt at underwater photography).

Red Sea Coral Grouper

Forster’s Hawkfish
The single best dive of the trip was the very last dive on the inner reef of Ras Ghazlani which has been closed to divers for a while and has just recently been opened again.
Not only was this the last dive of the trip I dived with Peter and Alison (Mum & Dad) on this gorgeous reef with the most amazing coral formations on what was Alisons 1000th dive! Congratulations Alison!
We drifted for an hour and barely seen any other divers, however we seen baby torpedo rays, a mother of pearl shell with a resident crab, sea cucumber poo and a lovely big sea cucumber, a Large grouper, great picasso trigger fish, giat blue trigger fish, thousands of Antheas and a lovely jelly fish.
I cant wait to get back to this reef it truly was stunning & made a stonking last dive of the trip!
